Natives for Natives
High Ranch Nursery is now offering sustainable and native plants to the local retail customer. Gardeners seeking alternatives to thirsty ornamentals can find a good selection of drought tolerant, low water use, lawn substitutes and easy-to-grow plants. Many of these plants are part of the excellent group of Arboretum All-Stars selected by UC Davis for outstanding performance and sustainability in California gardens. In addition, natives – both drought tolerant and riparian selections – are offered for a more natural landscape that is compatible with adjacent native habitat.
With a sustainable landscape, not only are you providing beauty to your yard, you are making the “green” choice for a great performing garden. Our sustainable line of plants:
• conserve water
• are habitat friendly
• require less fertilizers and pesticides
• resists pests
• are ecologically sound with local native plants
Did you know? That there are monetary incentives available for switching from a thirsty lawn to a water-conserving garden. For example, if you are a Placer County Water Agency customer, they have a rebate program.
You are welcome to come in and shop for these plants and view our several acres of display beds.
Retail Hours: Monday through Friday, 7 am to 2 pm.
