Cercis occidentalis - Western Redbud
This featured California Native is an Arboretum All-Star. It’s very drought tolerant, and has very showy magenta flowers in the spring. It can reach up to 18' x 18', but can be kept lower with pruning. It can also be trained into a small tree. Foliage is blue-green, notched or rounded at tip. Flowers are bright magenta, followed by reddish-tan seed pods. Native to California. Resistant to oak root fungus. A great specimen plant for any garden!
