Penstemon heterophyllus ‘Margarita BOP’ – Santa Margarita Foothill Penstemon
California native perennial to 2' x 2 1/2'. Tidy upright habit with blue flowers fading to purple. A named hybrid from Las Pilitas Nursery in Santa Margarta, also referring to the "Bottom Of the Porch" where this chance hybrid was found. Flowers are golden yellow as buds, bright blue as blooms, then change to purple pink. Unlike many penstemons, it thrives in garden conditions. Likes: sun, average soil, good drainage.
